Conference Objective

The AMSA Region 4,6,8 Conference will focus on empowering physicians-in-training to become a force for change in the world of health care, both today and in the future. We will consider the current state of health care as it relates to phsyicians' work environments, and the availability of access to equitable care fo rpatients. Specifically, speakers will address physician ties to the pharmaceutical industry, pros and cons of government sponsored health insurance exchange, and steps to create an LGBT friendly hospital environment, among other topics. By discussing the many shortcomings of today's health care system, we hope to raise awareness and activism in both the medical and pre-medical communities. We aim to equip both current and future physicians to think critically about the challenges they face and to have their voices heard in the battle for change.

For Pre-Medical Students

The Region 4,6,8 Conference welcomes pre-medical students as well! Issues regarding the quality of the health care system are pretinent to all future physicians, including those currently pursuing an undergraduate degree. Students applying to medical schools will also find insightful talks about the admissions proces including tips and Q&A sessions. The Feinberg admissions office will host an informative session about the school and will provide a tour of the facilities.
